Future Doctor in Forsyth Park

momlife, ootd, travel

Yesterday I found out that I was accepted into Mercer’s Doctor of Psychology program! I had been wait listed all summer and a spot just opened up, less than 2 weeks before classes start, and I was first on the list.🙌🏽 I literally jumped up and down when I got the news.

And to think, I had been applying for counseling jobs all summer and could not get an interview. I was still hoping that things would work out and some miracle would get me into this program tho.

In spite of my disappointments, I meditated on the fact that whatever is for me is already mine and things work out as they should. And I got in. God stay having my back.

Here is the final round of pictures from my Savannah trip. Rocking black on black in the beautiful Forsyth Park.

Travel: Tybee Island

momlife, travel

I feel rejuvenated. Like something has changed on a cellular level. Like healing has occurred. I talked about my spiritual journey recently on my Facebook page and I was super surprised by the feedback that I got. It helped me to realize that there is the opportunity to create community and connection by being more open and vulnerable, especially about the things that many of us can relate to.

I’ll be including more talks of spiritual practices and metaphysics on this site in the future. I hope we can share and grow together in that.

I visited Tybee Island, an adorable little island close to Savannah, Georgia. My family and I spent a relaxing day at the beach and it felt like a hard reset. It felt soo good. We got to the beach late Sunday morning. It wasn’t crowded at all, the weather was great, and the ocean water was nice and warm. If you’re in the Atlanta area or in this general part of the country, I would recommend taking a weekend trip to Tybee Island. More from my day below:

Peace❤️

Travel: Sweet Times in Savannah.

Lifestyle, momlife, travel

I visited Savannah, Georgia for the first time last weekend and fell in love. The big Oak trees with Spanish Moss draping the branches are so beautiful. Savannah has the feel of an old soul. Such a charming place.

The great thing about living in the South is a quick road trip can get you to so many cool places whether it’s in Georgia, the Carolinas, Florida, or elsewhere. Driving to Savannah was a 3.5 hour car ride. Completely doable, even with 2 toddlers.

On our first day there, we went to The Public House for dinner, which was amazing. Then we waited in a line that went half way down the block for Leopold’s Ice Cream. Their serving size was on 200. And I, for one, was not mad. Plus the weather was perfection so we finished the day with a nice stroll around town. It was a great day.

I’m just getting to know Savannah, so any recommendations for next time are appreciated. I’ll definitely be back.

Peace. ❤️

July 12th: A Cancer Woman.

Atlanta, Lifestyle, nightlife

Shawty had a birthday this summer 👏🏽

Shout out to all the wonderful Cancer’s out there. Enjoying good food and emoting like nobody’s business 😊. I love us.

I used to live by Grant Park but I never made it over to Agave, so I went there for my birthday dinner. Margarita please. Earlier that day I had a nice full body massage and the next day I went out with some friends & family.

If you’re a Cancer, happy belated birthday to you. 💋

Travel: Father’s Day in Kansas City.

momlife, travel

If it’s one thing about me that you can bet on, it’s that I’m always taking (and editing) pictures. The 8,000+ pictures currently on my iPhone are proof of that. So even when I’m not posting anything, my arsenal real strong.

I was in Kansas City for Father’s Day this year. We went to Fritz’s, where trains deliver your meal, club’d it in the Westport area, and took family photos of the next generation. #CousinSquad with their Nigerian names on the back.

For any of my KC readers, what are your recommendations for cool things to do in the city?

Peace. ❤️

House Party: Family Style.

Atlanta, momlife

Here’s a flashback to late May when me & Josie had a joint Luau party at the house. Celebrating her first birthday and my graduation from graduate school. ❤️

Josephine wore that cupcake out! I’m telling you. And if you’re wondering about her outfit, I found it on Amazon and it couldn’t have been cuter on her little body. It was probably $10.

Peace❤️

Travel: St. Louis Summer Trip

momlife, travel

Peace to you! Man, what’s good people. I took a break from blogging this summer. That Mercury Retrograde just took me clean out. Can anyone relate?

My birthday was July 12. I celebrated with a honey body massage & foot rub (fire), then went to this slightly side-eye worthy day party in Atlanta with my girls. It was enjoyable tho. Another year here on Earth…all gratitude.

So I took my babies to St. Louis for a much needed change of scenery. I was finally able to meet my nephew Lincoln. (A cutie)

Of course I had to take Langston & Josephine to the Saint Louis Zoo…one of the best in the country and free. We also visited the Magic House. They loved it all.

What do you like to do in St Louis with young children?
