This what I feel like sometimes during meditation. Like, where the fuck am I? And also, yes. 

I’ve been holding down a consistent meditation practice lately and I just think it’s so necessary and cool. For me, meditation is a form of self-love. When I’m done, my body feels more relaxed and my mind is way more quiet. I feel super present. 

So right now my intention is to meditate 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. I don’t always reach that goal but I’m building consistency still. If you want to start meditating and that seems like too long for you, 5 minutes is also great. Any minutes is great if you ask me. I think the important part is about being intentional about the actual practice of meditation: focusing on your breath, letting go of your thoughts, and then noticing when you inevitably let your mind wander and bringing your awareness back to your breath. It’s a lovely little dance.   

For my science folks, research shows the benefits of meditation include lowering blood pressure, anxiety, and depression  and also helping people cope with chronic pain. Not to mention you can see colors with your eyes closed. So there’s that too. Need I say more?
