OOTD: Midwest Shawty.

At Home, Lookbook, ootd

I’m not sure what it is about this outfit…maybe it’s the skirt, maybe it’s the hat, but I just feel like this embodies a midwest vibe. Maybe I just called myself country, I don’t know, lol. But I like it.

Shout out to all of St. Louis.

I just finished up my first year of classes for my clinical psychology program and it’s going really well. It’s been a wild ride already and it’s a lot of work. But I’m really growing.

Even though I’m still sheltering in place at home, I needed to get cute and be creative. I figure if I have a couple weeks without classes, I may as well use it to have some fun and feel good. And I love creating outfits and taking pictures so it’s a win.

I’m also on TikTok now *inserts Megan thee Stallion “ehh”*, so please find me on there so we can connect.

Toodles,
Leslie Anne

Staycation with me.

Atlanta, nightlife

I celebrated 5 years in the marriage game last weekend. It honestly stuns me that I have been married for 5 years already. Life just keeps moving right along. Marriage is challenging at times but it’s also a lot of fun, especially when you’re raising a family together. Here’s to loving, listening, lots of fun, and continued personal growth.

Amanze (the hub) and I did a staycation at the W Atlanta- Midtown. The room was super cute. Then we ate at Chops Lobster Bar. Fiye. I had salmon and Amanze had a seafood trio….it was seriously delicious. Afterwards, we hit up Wiskey Mistress where they played early ’00’s tunes and oldies for not got-damn reason, but it was funny. The ambiance in that place is real cool though.

Where do yal like to go out in Atlanta?

Peace,

-Leslie

Burna Boy Atlanta Show

Atlanta, Music, nightlife, ootd

I was at the Burna Boy show in Atlanta last night. Even though it was on a Tuesday and I had class the next morning, I didn’t wanna miss it. I figured his show would be awesome since his music consistently bops.

Sigh….

Ok. Ima start with the positive:

Hella people showed up. The opening act & DJ had a whole Afrobeats vibe going on so the mood in the venue was lovely (earlier on). It was black folks from all across the diaspora meeting in the exact same time & place for a Nigerian artist. And that, was dope. Also, his graphics were so cool to me. Props to whoever designed those.

But. Burna lowkey burned us. The show started at 8….he didn’t arrive until after 10:30. He wasn’t even in town when the show started. People left before he even got there and everyone else was pissed. I don’t know how many times I randomly heard “Where the fuck is Burna Boy.” That shit was a mess.

Once he got on stage, his performance was good. But at that point I had to force my eyes open out of sheer exhaustion (i.e.: momlife, doctoral student life, I be tired life.) Overall I’m still happy that I could see Burna live. My guy just needs to get his time management together.

I was still cute tho. 🙂

Travel: Sweet Times in Savannah.

Lifestyle, momlife, travel

I visited Savannah, Georgia for the first time last weekend and fell in love. The big Oak trees with Spanish Moss draping the branches are so beautiful. Savannah has the feel of an old soul. Such a charming place.

The great thing about living in the South is a quick road trip can get you to so many cool places whether it’s in Georgia, the Carolinas, Florida, or elsewhere. Driving to Savannah was a 3.5 hour car ride. Completely doable, even with 2 toddlers.

On our first day there, we went to The Public House for dinner, which was amazing. Then we waited in a line that went half way down the block for Leopold’s Ice Cream. Their serving size was on 200. And I, for one, was not mad. Plus the weather was perfection so we finished the day with a nice stroll around town. It was a great day.

I’m just getting to know Savannah, so any recommendations for next time are appreciated. I’ll definitely be back.

Peace. ❤️
